DOTTIE’S MAGIC POCKETS DVD RELEASED
RELEASE MAKES HISTORY AS THE FIRST KIDS’ SHOW FOR CHILDREN IN GAY AND LESBIAN HOUSEHOLDS

LOS ANGELES, September 17, 2007 – Dottie’s Magic Pockets, the first children’s programming for kids in Gay and Lesbian households, is now available. The history making, live-action show is available for purchase exclusively at www.DottiesMagicPockets.com.

“COLAGE is very excited about the release of Dottie's Magic Pockets, a new fun and creative show for young kids of LGBT parents. We intimately know the importance of having media that celebrates all of our families and all the ways each of us is unique. This show is a great example of a show that does both,” says Meredith Fenton, COLAGE (Children Of Lesbian & Gays Everywhere) Program Director.

The first Dottie’s Magic Pockets DVD contains two 25-minute episodes, entitled “Doing the Flower” and “Beat Beet” as well as the bonus feature “A Visit with May” (Dottie’s partner, a vet). Each episode features the fabulous Dottie and her polka-dotted bow, along with loveable puppets, eye-popping animations, and silly songs that are guaranteed to entertain! The episodes also include images and characters – such as Princess, a caterpillar with two dads – that kids in gay and lesbian households can especially relate to. Dottie’s Magic Pockets is available on DVD from Pink Pea, LLC for $19.99 retail (plus shipping and handling).
“I am so proud of Dottie’s Magic Pockets. It not only fills a void in the LGBT community, but in children’s programming as a whole,” says Tammy Stoner, creator of Dottie’s Magic Pockets and CEO of Pink Pea. “As a mother, I know kids will love Dottie and her magical friends because she is funny, warm, and wacky. Adults will love Dottie because she teaches compassion and acceptance. And, frankly, the show itself is clever enough that parents will really enjoy watching it with their kids.”

Dottie’s Magic Pockets invites children ages 2-7 to enter the fun-filled world of Dottie, a wacky stay-at-home mom whose house seems suddenly empty when her partner and their son leave for his first day of school. To cheer up his mom, her son gives her a gift: a hooded sweatshirt with huge, dotted pockets.

When Dottie discovers that the hoodie’s pockets are filled with magic glitter, she sprinkles it around and — voila! — her humdrum living room is transformed into a zany funhouse filled with a gaggle of whimsical characters, including: Randal the Beaver, James the Flower, Uncanny the Singing Can, Motilda the Mouse, and Wally the Wall. Kids join Dottie and the gang as they discover, dance, laugh, learn, and sing their way through new adventures.
